About Me

Hi, I'm Amanda Phillips and I am passionate about teaching adaptable yoga.
To me Adaptable Yoga means
Modifiable - We can adapt and modify poses to meet the body you bring to the mat. Maybe you are recovering from an injury, in a bigger body (or even just bigger than it used to be), maybe you've lost mobility, or maybe you're just feeling off. We can modify yoga to meet you where you are on your mat.

Flexible - Yoga with me means that you have choices for which pose or pose variation you do today. From resting instead of moving to choosing an increased intensity modification my classes have the flexibility to meet every yogi where they want to practice.

Affordable - I am always striving to find ways to adapt my yoga offerings to different budgets. From free community classes, low price private sessions, and service-discounts at retreats we can find a way to adapt yoga to fit into your budget.

More about my Yoga Journey
I have completed my 200 and 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training through "My Vinyasa Practice" with a lineage connecting back to Krishnamacharya. My trauma informed training focused on optimizing joint load through personal body alignment and modifications of poses for every-body.

My goal as a yoga teacher is to balance the movement, breath, and inner workings of yoga to provide students a place to be with themselves. I do this by offering time for breath work, gratitude throughout my classes while offering options for modifying poses to be both more gentle and more intense. The words never do the practice justice - the best way to understand is by joining me on the mat!

As I continue to learn and move within my yoga journey I have started to further explore the philosophy and mythology behind yoga at its beginning. I'm constantly fascinated by the ways that yoga came about and the non-movement based principles of yoga. And, I am currently on a mission to learn ways to combine these teachings with the movement more present in westernized yoga practices.
